Job Description


Position Overview

Test Technician is responsible for testing and validating final assemblies as required per test procedures to ensure compliance with design specifications and engineering drawings.
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality while maintaining a safe work environment.
The Test Technician may need to work with supervisors or engineers to resolve any testing issues. They may also be required to perform other test related activities.

Responsibilities :

The responsibilities associated with the role of Test Technician in executing their duties daily are as follows, but not limited to the following:

Inspect, test, and adjust units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements per test procedure.
Read and interpret schematic/mechanical drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, bills of materials, or reports to determine materials and test requirements.
Clean up working areas, testing tools, conduct 6S audits and safety walks.
Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve test problems.
Participate in work groups / projects in order to inform oneself and to provide information to the others and to optimize processes and workflows.
Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information.
Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data from all relevant sources.
Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Knowledge

The knowledge that is required to be competent in the role of Gear Test Technician is as follows, but not limited to the following:

Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and procedures.
Knowledge of product, workmanship standards, and test procedures.
Basic knowledge of computer software applications, such as Microsoft words, excel.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, test processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective testing of products.
Knowledge of basic lean principles and techniques for optimizing processes and eliminating waste.

Skills

The following are the minimum skills that are required to be an effective Test Technician:

The ability to recognize a safety hazard or risk.
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents and communicating effectively to suit the needs of your audience either verbal, written or by listening.
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Monitoring gauges, dials, instrumentations or other indicators to make sure machine/equipment is working properly.
Determining causes of failures during testing and deciding what to do about it.
Assembling mechanical connections and components as per drawings, instructions, and test procedures.
Be able to work with others to achieve a common goal.

Education and Experience

One of the following education and/or experiences is required to be considered for this position.

Associate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical
Vocational Certification in related field
Apprenticeship Certification in related field
Two years of work experience in related field.
Strongest consideration will be given to individuals who are currently employed at the GA400 client facility who have experience with our products, equipment and technology.
