Job DescriptionAssociate ScientistPrimary Purpose and Overall ObjectiveParticipate in laboratory activities to develop new clinical microbiology diagnostic products. Provide assistance to improve or support existing client products, methods, or techniques.Main AccountabilitiesProvide laboratory support for departmental activities.Apply scientific principles and techniques in the performance of data collection, routine analysis, and method development.Execute laboratory tasks and experiments independently.Assure compliance of procedures to established protocols and quality standards.Accurately document or summarize the completion of laboratory activities in accordance with quality standards.Organize workload to meet project goals and priorities.Develop know-how related to client technologies.Knowledge and Experience Required for the JobB.S. degree in Biology, Microbiology, Medical Technology, or related field.Experience with aseptic technique and handling bacteria.Knowledge of BSL2 requirements and laboratory safety.Understanding of lab procedures and standard laboratory equipment.Ability to acquire and perform new laboratory techniques.Understanding of GLP/GMP.Good communication skills (verbal and writing).Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Good organizational skills.Experience with antibiotic susceptibility testing products is a plus.100% ONSITEVIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
