Job Description


Position overview:

Our Electromechanical Assembler position requires basic use of mechanical/measuring tools. The preferred candidates would be responsible for all aspects of electromechanical assembly. Placement will be on second shift (current shift hours 4:00 pm to 12:30 am).
Candidates will be assembling and/or modifying electromechanical equipment (e.g. Switchboards, Lighting Panels, etc.) with use of mechanical tools and blueprints.
Job is typically performed indoors, occasionally lifting heavy materials, wearing common safety equipment ( i.e. cut resistant gloves/sleeves, safety shoes, safety glasses and ear plugs etc..), being exposed to loud noises, operating forklift and light industrial machinery.

Minimum Qualifications

Education- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience – 1-2 years of experience

Skills, capabilities:

Basic computer skills and use of basic mechanical /measuring tools
Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
Ability to stand to perform job duties
Ability to reach, grasp and lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull and slide heavy material
Ability to stoop, bend, squat, crawl and climb
Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Must be willing to learn all equipment operated in the facility, and follow established processes
Must be able to make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.

Preferred not required – forklift operator
On the job training will be provided for candidates who do not have forklift experience but at least a year of warehouse experience**

Main Job Duties:

Operates tools and equipment common to the mechanical trade (e.g. hand & power tools).
Processes work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders.
Scans in and out of work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders.
Reads and interprets documents associated with the completion of mechanical assembly assignments (e.g. blue prints, bill of materials, one line diagrams, etc.).
Gathers parts and accessories required in the assembly process.
Assembles fabricated parts to create unit assemblies (Switchboards & Lighting Panels) or subassemblies.
Fastens component parts on cubicles or frames, subassemblies, or unit assemblies.
Connects cables and basic wires.
Verifies that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
Disassembles units to adjust or replace parts.
Marks unit assemblies with identifying information and/or attaches identifying tags.
Reports non-conforming items (e.g. parts, schematics, blue prints, etc.)
Prepares finished units for shipping (e.g. packing, sealing, labeling, etc.)
Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
Accesses and utilizes various documents, with the use of computers, associated with the manufacture of products in assembly (e.g. Quality and Safety Documents, Operating Instructions, etc.)
Performs other work as directed by Supervision.
To protect the health and safety of our workers, the client has adopted standard EHS guidelines ( based on CDC guidelines).
The established guidelines include a fit for duty process and the wearing of masks (provided) while inside the facility if they are fully vaccinated.
