State Aid Administrator (we need someone who has advanced knowledge of client Aid: MAP Grant, IVG, ING)

Under the direction of the Director, the Assistant Director will oversee all aspects of the awarding of federal and state funds to students who have applied for financial aid at the client. The incumbent will possess expert-level knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidelines as well as system-level and SIUE-specific policies. Drawing on this expertise, they will assess and deploy best practices to ensure the highest level of quality control in the packaging, awarding, and distribution of millions of dollars in funding. Additionally, the role will supervise staff members responsible for carrying out supporting processes. Collaborating and communicating with inter-departmental staff and administrators on cross-functional processes will be critical. The incumbent will serve on the Financial Aid leadership team and be expected to keep those leaders apprised on overarching goals and directives. Position will serve as chief compliance representative for Office of Student Financial Aid, and as such, will manage and execute cyclical and ad hoc audit processes, mandates, and compliance directives. Accuracy, responsiveness, coordination, communication, and deadline management will be essential responsibilities. The incumbent will be expected to learn and use the student information system to perform operational tasks. The role will leverage ancillary software, databases, and reporting tools to make data-driven recommendations and decisions that keep the client in compliance. The scope of this position finds the incumbent involved in the accurate execution of financial aid processes from end to end.
