Finance & Operations AssistantAbout the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Finance & Operations Assistant to support our Senior Financial Analyst with day-to-day accounting activities, invoice management, and financial reporting. This is a temporary engagement offering hands-on exposure to finance operations within a professional press environment.ResponsibilitiesReview, log, and track incoming invoices to ensure accurate and timely processing.Monitor and manage invoices from designated suppliers, verifying amounts, purchase order alignment, and payment status.Flag discrepancies or missing documentation and follow up with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.Assist with organizing, filing, and maintaining financial reports and supporting documentation in a structured manner.Help prepare recurring financial reports by compiling data from multiple sources and formatting for review.Support reconciliation activities by cross-referencing invoice records against budget and expenditure data.Perform data entry and maintain spreadsheets related to invoice tracking and financial reporting.Communicate professionally with vendors and internal teams as needed to clarify invoice details.Assist the Sr. Financial Analyst with ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned.RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred.Prior experience in an administrative, finance, or accounting support role preferred.Strong attention to detail and ability to handle numerical data accurately.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (basic formulas, sorting, filtering, and data entry).Organized, reliable, and able to work independently on recurring tasks with minimal supervision.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately.Experience with Oracle or other ERP/financial systems a plus but not required.What You'll GainHands-on experience with financial operations, invoice processing, and budget management in a professional higher education setting.Exposure to Oracle financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite tools used in day-to-day finance operations.Mentorship and direct collaboration with a Senior Financial Analyst.Development of skills in attention to detail, analytical thinking, and professional communication.Notes:9:00 AM - 2:00 PMPart – time up to 20-25 hours a week
