Job Description

Description:

This position will be a part of the Patient Finance group, and will perform a wide variety of accounting duties associated with the daily patient bank operations.
1. Maintains individual client trust funds and the client resident trust funds. Perform cash disbursements and check deposits to/from patients and other areas of client in support of site's daily business activities. Maintain drawer balances accordingly and investigate any overage/short amounts. Enters and reconciles daily deposit transactions. Reconciles check register.
2. Approves patient withdrawal vouchers, reviews accounts for errors, and maintains ledger accounts for all transactions.
3. Reviews and verifies fiscal documents for the revolving fund as it pertains to cash/check disbursements. Receives cash and checks for maintenance payments and personal spending. Prepares daily deposits for variety of funds.
4. Listens and communicates to inquiries from patients, staff, guardians, and family members regarding patient deposit funds.
5. Follows banking policies and procedures. Maintains supporting documents for all accounts.
6. Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of:
Principles, methods, and practices of fiscal and financial record keeping
Understand, interpret, and apply principles of accounting and general fiscal and financial record keeping practices
Performance Management (PM), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies.

Skill in:
Maintaining ledgers and journals
Analyzing fiscal data
Procedures, methods, and office systems used in statistical record keeping
Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

Required Skills
Education - High School Diploma/GED or Higher Education
License - Valid Driver's License
2+ Years in an Accounting Position
