Qualifications:
AV and Control Design Engineer and Programmer
Bachelor’s degree in human interface design, computer science or related field plus courses relevant to web technology, or user experience.
3-5 years of direct experience expertise with user interaction design across diverse platforms
Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web-oriented technologies
Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for supporting the client by carrying out the audio, video, and control engineering functions as required to support the design, installation, and programming of updating and enhancing the custom audio-video systems.

You will maintain open lines of communication both within the clients Team’s expectations.
The level of work required is considered advanced and reports to the client Team. This job has no direct reports.
Concept, Design, and Testing:
Conduct a museum site survey and participate in team meetings to understand deliverable requirements and intended system functionality for the audio, visual, and control system in the Museum
Respond to requests for modifications and additions to systems. Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure modifications are tracked and cost-evaluation is considered for quality and reliability of all technology decisions
Bring possible UX/Design solutions to the team for improvements and/or requirements for content and the delivery of content to achieve the Museum’s goals
Integrate back-end services with public facing interactives and websites using front end code
AVC Programming
Identify any system design challenges and proactively devise plans to avoid future troubleshooting issues that may arise
Share knowledge of current products and various manufacturers, including but not limited to BrightSign, Dakota Audio, Brown Innovations, Holosonics, AMX, Crestron, Alcorn McBride, QSC Q-Sys, 7th Sense, WATCHOUT or Medialon control system
Lead in coordination with the client Team the commissioning of all systems in the client to ensure proper functioning and performance of a building’s systems and equipment according to the project requirements.
It involves a series of thorough tests, inspections, and documentation to verify that all components work together efficiently
Collaboration and Maintenance:
Provide training of system operation to the client team and other employees as needed
Contribute to Operations and Maintenance Manuals for the client with tips, troubleshooting, etc., to ensure minimum down time and maximum performance of technology in the Museum
Aid the client Team in the development of project plans and milestones
Execute project plans within the time constraints specified while adhering to quality standards
Create BOM (bill of materials) and AV deliverables, including drawings and other documents to meet ESI (electronically stored information) Standards
Maintain proper safety practices in accordance with OSHA, site safety requirements, and/or ESI Standards.
Preferred Skills
Intermediate understanding and capability of programming Audio Visual equipment (e.g., AMX, Crestron, Alcorn, Medialon, QSC Q-Sys, 7th Sense, WATCHOUT and Alcorn McBride)
Proficiency in AV systems programming language, including Simpl+
Intermediate understanding of IoT, Networking, Switch Configurations, etc.
4-5 years' experience commissioning Corporate, Theme Park, Museum, and Entertainment AV Systems
Experience with various system types (DSP, controllers, network switches, displays, and how they interconnect)
Experience with Photoshop/Illustrator and video encoding to transcode older videos/programs into new formats
Experience in game development tools and programming languages to bring concepts to life
Familiarity with Agile methodology
Not required but helpful
Experience with SMAART
Proficiency in AutoCAD software and engineering simulation tools
Additional Skills

Enjoys discussing the details but makes efficient use of time in meetings
Willingness to share expertise and elaborate to ensure jargon doesn’t limit understanding

Top 3 hard skills:
Lead the redevelopment and migration of existing interactive media content from legacy PC-based systems to BrightSign hardware. This involves reverse engineering compiled software to extract media assets, followed by recreating the interactive experiences in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and creating BrightSign integrations using BrightAuthor-connected software.
