Description:


Code Development: Translate control narratives and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) prepared by process and mechanical engineers into well-structured ladder logic for PLCs.

HMI Design: Create intuitive and effective Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens to ensure seamless operator control and monitoring of industrial processes.

Collaboration & Commissioning: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to commission new equipment, troubleshoot systems, and ensure successful project startups at various sites.

Electrical Systems Integration: Interpret electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, ladder diagrams, and wiring schematics, to support system design and troubleshooting.

Hands-On Implementation: Perform and supervise the physical wiring of 24V DC control devices such as transmitters, sensors, and actuators according to manufacturer specifications and design documents.


Highest Level of Education Required for this Position: 

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.


Qualifications (IE SAP Experience, Excel Knowledge, Any Certifications, Years of Experience in Certain Fields): 

Preferably 2- 5 years experience in any of the qualifications described below.


Required Qualifications:

Strong foundational knowledge of PLC programming, with comfort in ladder logic platforms like RSLogix or similar.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.

A hands-on aptitude and willingness to work in both office and industrial field environments.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Prior internship or co-op experience in an industrial automation, manufacturing, or process control environment.

Direct experience with Rockwell Automation Systems.

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Modbus).


Top 3 Must-Have Skills:

Ability to self manage time and prioritize tasks

Should be flexible to work and respond/travel off hours if needed.

Good communication skills with operations/IT and OT team


Notes:

Hours per week: 40 (up to 60 some weeks when travel is required)

Central timezone, core hours 9 - 3 pm, flexible outside of those hours when not traveling
