Job Description

Role is hybrid (2 days onsite per week).


SCOPE OF THE PROJECT: The Applications Team is part of the client and is responsible for developing and maintaining applications in support of the client including Clients Child Support System, SDNH (State Directory of New Hires) and the Client Portal application.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
During this assignment, the financial business analyst will report to the State functional manager to provide status updates on assigned tasks. The resource should be able to work independently with minimum guidance to enhance the current application’s user interface to be interactive and self-guided primarily in financial areas of client Child Support Application.

Primary Responsibilities
Work closely with the State Functional Manager and Business Analysts to identify areas for improvement within client and deliver practical, actionable recommendations.
Analyze existing workflows to uncover inefficiencies and pain points.
Design optimized workflows for complex processes in alignment with client business requirements.
Propose enhanced functionality for complex financial activities within the client .
Design self-guiding workflows, including guided navigation, tooltips, and contextual assistance, for critical areas such as order entry and financial adjustments.
Design user-friendly features such as step-by-step wizards, contextual help, and automated guidance to improve usability and reduce training needs.
Conduct stakeholder interviews as needed to gain a comprehensive understanding of client business processes.
Collaborate with other Business Analysts to develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and provide general assistance during testing activities.
Participate in regular functional meetings focused on user-reported issues, enhancements, and bug triage to review progress, discuss solutions, and align on priorities.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
1. 5+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst
2. 5+ years of experience working with Child Support systems
3. 5+ years of experience working with financial operations such as receipts, distribution, disbursements, recoupment, and/or reconciliation
4. 5+ years of experience with workflow design and system enhancement
5. 5+ years of experience conducting Stakeholder Interviews
6. 5+ years with SQL Querying
7. Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED SKILLS:
1. Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager
2. Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodology
3. Preference for a degree in Finance or IT

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

BS Degree, Preference given to Finance or IT degree
