Scope of the Project:The client is seeking a consultant-level Business Analyst/Technical Writer to support the planning and execution of a fast-paced information security assessment program across the client. This program will focus on identifying risk and measuring compliance of information security programs and systems across the client as well as providing reporting and monitoring information to both client and agency leadership.The Business Analyst will be responsible for quality control and assurance for the deliverables associated with this program as well as documenting plans, procedures, and progress of the program with the Program Manager.This program includes:Assessment of client-wide, shared or common services and security controls provided to agenciesAssessment of client-owned services and security controls at each agencyTracking progress and resolving issues with each assessmentDocumenting and presenting results from each assessment to client and division leadershipTracking, documenting, and reporting assessment results at the client, sector, or other criterion level for the programGathering requirements and recommendations for program improvementDeveloping policy, plan, process, and procedure documentation for the statewide information security programDaily Duties / Responsibilities:This implementation assistance would include, but is not limited to:Status reporting of operational support tasks and related work effortsIdentifying metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) of processes and their outputCreate, manage, and maintain policy, plan, process, procedure, and other program documents such as process flows, standard operating procedures, desk manuals, and procedural guidelinesReview, edit, and maintain documentation consistency and accuracy for documentation submitted by both staff and vendorsMonitor and support deadlines, milestones, and activitiesApply change, risk, and resource managementDocument all meetings attended, directives, and significant phone conversationsDevelop and deliver professional technical program updates to DIS leadership and supporting staffCommunicates with IT leadership, business leadership, and IT business consultants to communicate program strategy, direction, and changesResponsible for tracking key project milestones and recommending adjustments to project managersMust possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Microsoft Office toolsRequired Skills (Rank in Order of Importance):Excellent technical writing skills; technical writing experienceAbility to create effective and clear process flows and similar diagrams in PowerPoint or VisioPreferred Skills (Rank in Order of Importance):Simultaneously manage multiple reporting requirementsStrong schedule management and planning skillsSupport regulatory compliance projects5+ years of experience in technical writingExperience with technical SOP documentation and graphic creation in VisioRequired Education/Certifications:Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with 2 years of experienceSoft Skills:Excellent problem-solving abilityExcellent team playerExcellent communication (written and verbal) skillsAbility to work at a high-volume and fast paceStrong collaborator and strong ability to meet deadlinesAbility to identify, map, and support business processesNotes:Remote - Onsite during projects or at regular monthly/ quarterly intervals.
