Business Intelligence Analyst II - Business Intelligence

Major Purpose
Efficiently retrieves internal and external data and ensures that source data is accurate, meaningful and valid for use in analytics and reporting. This level combines 2-3 sources of structured data with a consistent identifier. Identifies ways to develop sustainable data provisioning solutions. Addresses quality issues for data sets by identifying the root cause and potential solutions. Updates or develops dashboards. Supports efforts to close data quality gaps by meeting data training needs within the business. Works under some supervision.

Major Duties
Identify, elicit, and document project/process requirements, using appropriate modeling technique, if required. Analyze requirements and validate with original users, eliminating confusion. Define the testing scripts and verification criteria to ensure requirements are met. Maintain documentation and traceability throughout project.
Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
Provide information and comments on suitability during the approval process for database specifications to ensure all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.
Support and contribute to the documentation of "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of Target user roles and goals.
Contribute to and support feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective, and document findings.
Explore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
Interpret the business need and identify solution recommendations to business problems at a business unit level.
Carry out feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to contribute to the development and continuous review of business cases.

Specific Position Requirements

Your Responsibilities

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst at the client, you will be generating actionable insights & reports to personalize the customer experience for making better & faster decisions. The role will be specifically focused on supporting large Agriculture customers with valuable, actionable, and timely analytics in BI dashboards that are customized to meet their primary analysis needs, including the data setup required to display data accurately and succinctly to customers. This position will also require ability to communicate and present to both external customers and internal stakeholders.

In addition to the technical skills below, strong verbal communication skills are imperative. Would be communicating with customers via Teams on video-chat on a semi-regular basis.


In addition, you will:
Extract and evaluate data to support BI development
Create and support data visualizations, insightful reports, and dashboards for internal stakeholders and dealer channel
Organize and clean the acquired data to improve data quality (accuracy, completeness, relevance)
Automate operational reporting

What Skills You Need
2 or more years of experience with Data Visualization tools and storytelling (i.e. QuickSight, Tableau, PowerBI etc.)
2 or more years of experience in data cleaning, data validation, and data analysis
1 or more years of experience using SQL or similar code
1 or more years of experience in communicating analytics results to senior leadership and technical audiences with the ability to adapt the level of technical detail

What Makes You Stand Out
Expertise in QuickSight (very important)
Expertise in big data platforms and/or technologies such as AWS, Data Lake, and Databricks
Experience with, and implementation of, AI and low-code applications or solutions
Experience in communicating to leadership and technical audiences with the ability to adapt the level of technical detail
Experience in training and mentoring others to use BI tools
Experience in Agriculture

Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent quantitative fields
