The client is seeking an independent contractor for the Business Recruitment Consultant - Central US Region.This contract is designed for a one-person role to support an efficient communication structure in a high-paced environment The consultant will be practiced at engaging companies with expansion or relocation plans for job creation and facility investment. This individual must have a demonstrated ability to interact with C-suite executives, site selectors, and consultants during the real estate site selection process. The contractor will have 5+ years of economic development experience, with an established record of successful business recruitment projects related to business attraction in economic development.Scope of WorkThe Business Recruitment Consultant- Central US Region role manages a portfolio of assigned business client files and manages business recruitment projects from start to finish. The Business Recruitment Consultant- Central US Region develops formal proposals in response to RFIs (Request for Information) to meet the client’s specific real estate location and site requirements, including details on available client properties, applicable client economic development incentives, labor availability, business cost factors and other requested data.1. Communicates effectively with client economic development communities regarding real estate searches relating to site selection opportunities, RFI requests and business attraction project updates.2. Leads and manages business recruitment projects from start to finish in a timely and professional manner.3. Advances business recruitment project proposals in coordination with client economic development professionals, site selectors, private sector partners, and utility partners to ensure the appropriate and accurate information is submitted.4. Becomes proficient in client incentive programsa) Works in partnership with client staff.b) Acquires foundational knowledge of support documentation and incentive proposal application completion requirements.c) Adheres to the client incentive proposal application processes.5. Documents business recruitment project activity and follow-up communication in Salesforce, the Customer Relation Management (CRM) system, for the client.6. Serves as an advocate for client to encourage clients to visit communities and make on-site visits to properties and client resources.7. Is familiar with the real estate, transportation, and education assets throughout the client.8. Represent the client at economic development related events, tradeshows, conferences, and other activities.9. Strategically employs a mix of client prospecting tools, industry data, and direct outreach for lead identification that results in business relocation and expansion projects.10. Develops and maintains a broad professional network with site location consultants and companies within the assigned geographic region to achieve measurable outcomes.11. Works in partnership with the client marketing team for events within the assigned coverage area.12. Can balance working independently while embracing a team environment within the client business development division.Experience:5+ years total of private and/or public economic development role. Combination of related experience including but not limited to:1. Managing time-sensitive complex business recruitment projects, related to business attraction in economic development, with an established record of project success.2. Proficient at lead identification and prospecting through a combination of technology tools, data, and direct outreach to generate and manage leads to attract new business.3. Practiced at partnering with local economic development professionals, site selectors, private sector businesses, and utility partners.4. Demonstrates interpersonal and customer relationship-building abilities.5. Experience interacting with C-suite executives, active site-selectors, and consultants.6. Skilled at implementing actionable business attraction strategies.7. Demonstrated abilities in establishing a strong network of economic development professionals and site selectors.Education:Solid business acumen supported by a bachelor's degree (required) in business, or related field e.g., public administration, business, or marketing.Notes:100% remote
