Description

The client is searching for a dynamic, self-motivated candidate to join our Server BIOS Quality Assurance team testing cutting edge server and manageability firmware solutions.

JOB DUTIES: JOB DUTIES:

- Manage and maintain testing systems, which includes replacing PC components, diagnosing hardware issues, and assembling new systems to include in the debug farm.
- Help execute core-level test plans, using test automation and coverage tools to model and track results.
- Reproduction, troubleshooting, and triaging of defects.
- Isolate issues by running experiments across the debug farm and collecting data.
- Prioritize and efficiently manage several concurrent projects and testing tasks.
- Detail oriented, with a drive to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Hardware Inventory management.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

AAS Degree in Computer Engineering/Technology or equivalent training and experience; Strong background in computer hardware, software and PC architecture; Extensive familiarity Windows operating systems, Linux experience, preferred; Minimum of 5+ years with PC hardware and software validation; PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills, required; Experience and technical expertise in PC hardware devices and motherboard architecture; Apply knowledge and principles of PC architecture in order to trouble shoot hardware compatibility issues; Working knowledge/experience with the installation of Linux and Windows operating systems including drivers; Experience flashing BIOS using ROM burner or utilities; Knowledge and ability to locate voltage rails, signals and components through the use of schematics; Ability to read, locate and decipher system registers; Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on detail

EDUCATION: High School Diploma is OK, but the individual MUST have 5+ years of experience

PHYSICAL ROLE DEMANDS:

Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Manual Dexterity: Proficient in handling small components and tools.
Visual Acuity: Good vision for detailed work and monitoring equipment.
Climbing: Comfortable using ladders and working at heights.

Top Skills - someone who can follow directions, hardware testing, familiarity with Windows operating systems, can capture and report failures to engineering and debug teams, will perform various hardware and software diagnostics in order to determine functional issues/failures on cutting edge server systems.

Note :

WORK SCHEDULE:

Will start on 8a-5p schedule. (some weekend work expected)after three months, we will transition to 10a-7p schedule.
This role is more for a Data Center Tech (which is mostly HW) and not compatibility tester (which is mostly SW testing.)
