Candidate will be supervising contractors, but will not directing the work of contractors. Primarily work oversight.
Responsibilities typically include: Project implementation for short-term results (1 year or less). Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex. Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures.
Ensures project deliverables are achieved – cost, schedule, quality. Multiple projects will be in progress at a site. The expectation is to periodically visit all the projects during the day/shift, but not to be continuous at one project the entire day/shift.
Responsibilities typically include setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex.
Ensures work is being performed in accordance with regulatory requirements especially OSHA requirements. All work should adhere to local statutes and laws.
Unsafe behaviors and conditions are to be reported and corrected expediently.
Multiple violations will be addressed appropriately.
Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments.
Assist with investigating accidents and environmental incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence.
Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to environmental and employee heath and safety.
Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by all stakeholders.
Coordinates work between the various contractors on a project and may at times assume the role of general contractor.

The selected contractor will serve as the primary onsite construction oversight resource and will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating contractor activities across multiple disciplines.
The hiring manager is seeking individuals who can effectively manage construction projects from planning through execution.

Important Clarification
Although the individual will oversee contractor activities, they will not directly supervise contractor employees on a daily basis.
This role serves as the owner’s representative and construction oversight lead.
Focus is on monitoring work quality, progress, safety, and adherence to project requirements.
Top Three Required Qualifications
1. Construction Experience (Must Have)
Requirement: 10–15 years of construction experience
This is considered the most critical qualification.
Candidates should demonstrate:
Extensive field construction experience
Ability to oversee construction activities
Experience working with contractors
Strong understanding of construction processes and project execution
2. Project Management Experience (Must Have)
Requirement: 10–15 years of project management experience
Candidates should have demonstrated experience managing:
Construction projects
Budgets
Schedules
Contractor coordination
Multidisciplinary project activities
3. Engineering Background (Preferred)
Requirement: Engineering degree or engineering background preferred
This is not mandatory but would significantly strengthen a candidate’s profile.

Other relevant engineering disciplines
Industry Experience Requirements
Energy industry experience is not required.
Candidates may come from a variety of construction related industries provided they possess strong construction management experience.
