Custodial Worker
Provides professional custodial and building-support services to maintain clean, safe, sanitary, and well-maintained client facilities. Performs routine and specialized cleaning duties across offices, common areas, restrooms, break rooms, corridors, and other assigned areas while following established client quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs daily cleaning and sanitation of offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, corridors, entrances, and other assigned facility areas.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes, and maintains hard-surface floors using appropriate equipment, cleaning products, and procedures.
Vacuums, spot-cleans, extracts, and shampoos carpeted areas as required.
Cleans and sanitizes high-touch surfaces, fixtures, furniture, doors, glass, walls, and other building surfaces.
Cleans and maintains restroom facilities, including toilets, urinals, sinks, partitions, mirrors, dispensers, and floors.
Collects, removes, and properly disposes of trash, recycling, and other routine facility waste in accordance with established procedures.
Restocks custodial supplies and restroom consumables and reports supply needs or shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
Mixes, handles, labels, stores, and uses cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and applicable safety requirements.
Operates and maintains custodial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor machines, auto-scrubbers, extractors, buffers, pressure-washing equipment, and other assigned tools.
Performs periodic and project-based cleaning, including deep cleaning, floor care, carpet extraction, high-dusting, wall washing, and other specialized services.
Assists with preparation of facilities for meetings, special events, inspections, and other operational activities.
Moves and handles custodial equipment, supplies, furniture, and materials as necessary to complete assigned work.
Maintains assigned work areas and custodial storage spaces in an orderly, secure, and sanitary condition.
Identifies and reports maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, spills, leaks, or facility conditions requiring attention.
Assists in maintaining building security by following established procedures for securing assigned areas, doors, equipment, and facilities.
Provides courteous and professional service to employees, visitors, contractors, and other building occupants.
Performs work requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and movement throughout multiple areas of a facility.
Follows established work schedules, task assignments, standard operating procedures, quality-control requirements, and applicable client policies.
Performs other related custodial and facility-support duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor facility environments and may require exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, dirt, odors, wet surfaces, and varying temperatures.
The position requires the ability to perform physical work for extended periods, including frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving custodial equipment and supplies.
Employees must consistently follow established safety practices, personal protective equipment requirements, chemical-handling procedures, and infection-control and sanitation standards.
