Job Description


Cylinder Handler

1. Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Perform the work with the utmost regard for the safety and health of all involved.
Understand and comply with all safety regulations and guidelines while on company or customer property.
Report any accident, incident and near miss.
Understand and comply with the established Quality System and report any deficiencies and stop any plant operation if is it compromising the quality process.
Assist in unloading cylinder trucks utilizing a forklift, pallet jacks, cylinder hand truck and lifting objects.
A) Interbranch deliveries.
B) Common carrier shipments.
C) All local (in house) trucks returning from customers.

Sort cylinders according to product, valve connection, cylinder size, and moving cylinders to designated areas.
Stage sorted pallets in their designated areas in the plant yard. Discuss with management the placement of pallets that do not have a designated area.
Identify incoming cylinders during sorting that require retest and placing them on a designated pallet positioned at the sorting platform.
Avoid having any free standing cylinders being staged. Secure all cylinders on pallets or have them nested when not on pallets.
Sort non-client cylinders onto pallets and report them to Management so they may be shipped out of Morrisville.
Keep the yard maintained and orderly by consolidating pallets by product service as per 5S methodology.
Report any cylinders with obvious damage or potential leaks immediately to Management.
Scan incoming cylinders as per Sops
Scanned RMA’s generate an email to mana.

2. General Requirements

Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise
Proficiency in the English language.
Good mechanical skills and aptitude.
Have a basic knowledge of the properties and characteristics of the products being handled.
Be able to accurately perform basic arithmetic calculations.

Other Requirements
Have a full range of motion and be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
Be able to operate a forklift, jack pallet truck and other cylinder movement type equipment.

3. Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
