Job Description


The Medicaid Data Scientist will work with the client data, business, and IT teams to develop advanced reports and conduct analysis of healthcare data, using standardized analytical methods and modern reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise to further the development of reports as well as evaluate and recommend tools for data reporting and analysis.
Assist in the development of scalable, organization-wide dashboards and reporting.
Utilize client claim and clinical data to perform advanced analysis to identify patterns, trends and insights using advanced analytical tools and methods.
Collaborate with client technical and non-technical teams to develop and document production of reports generated for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other external entities.
Identify possible gaps and recommend solutions for existing data and reporting/analytics solutions.
Review reporting produced by external entities to ensure whether methods and presentation are sound, accurate, and consistent with client expectations.
Support data literacy initiatives to educate client users on availability of and potential use cases for client data.
Participate and contribute data and analytics expertise in client projects as needed.
Identify and assist with evaluation of project opportunities, risks, and impact to other areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience
7 years working as a data scientist with Information Technology (IT) projects.
3 years' experience working with Medicaid programs to develop organizational data strategy and improve data quality by reinforcing data integrity
3 years' experience with building and developing reports, including working with tools such as the R Project for Statistical Computing, Microsoft Power BI, and other tools
3 years' experience working with technical and non-technical users of data
3 years' experience communicating, presenting, and teaching both technical and non-technical project members, including in person, at meetings and discussions with project members, etc.
3 years’ experience managing workloads to meet critical timelines and deadlines for IT projects

Preferred/Not Required
3 years’ experience with Healthcare IT projects and healthcare data
3 years’ experience with Medicaid projects or Healthcare payer projects
