Job Description


We are looking Technical Design Consultant Engineer to support the ELSP (Smart Power) business. While displaying strong technical skills in a team environment, the Engineer should demonstrate experience in design, quality, safety, compliance, and new product implementation.

Tasks

The Engineer will be responsible for the CAD related design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and program / product requirements.

Execute designs with solid modeling software (PTC Creo / Windchill) to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for designs which may include plastic, stamped metal, and electrically conductive parts and familiarity with SAP for supply chain management and process flow

Create and maintain technical documentation for all design work and present material for technical review including but not limited to tolerance loops, drawings, bill of materials, product cost, problem and action lists, risk management, and failure root cause analysis reviews.

Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Prepare and maintain product documentation, instruction manuals, project notebooks, and design and test documentation.

Arrange design reviews, discuss/coordinate/analyze concepts, and cost effectiveness of the Mechanical/Electrical designs.

Coordinate engineering activities with R&D team and support R&D related manufacturing activities.

May require some travel (domestic as well as international).


Background needs

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering, or similar and minimum 3 years design engineering experience, including product development of industrial and/or electrical distribution products

Background in Low Voltage Switchboards or similar, UL 891, UL 50/50E and NEC preferred.

Clear communication, strong collaborative skills across functions and within global teams

Experience with design software (Creo Preferred), PLM (Windchill preferred,



Note:
40 Hrs/Week
Travel is just a possibility, 90% chance there are no travel needs. This position must be in office.
Work hours : 8AM -5 PM EST with 1 hour lunch break ( typical 12 Noon - 1 PM EST) Monday to Friday (weekdays)
