ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide technical support to production teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues pertaining to assembly tools, equipment, processes, and products during manufacturing.
2. Ability to take initiative to resolve issues quickly and effectively with little or no supervision.
3. Support the installation, setup, wiring, programming, documentation, training, and maintenance of assembly and automation equipment (including but not limited to assembly build fixtures, torque tools, conveyor lines, PLCs, robots, etc.)
4. Create/update MWI's and client programs, including labelling and final packaging.
5. Possess an understanding of programmable logic controllers, networks, sensors/scanners/cameras, and configuring I/O devices for tying automated systems together.
6. Directly support Manufacturing and Factory Automation Engineers, and other departments as requested, including coordination of prototype jobs and resources.
7. Assist in the design, fabrication, and verification of production and prototype fixtures, jigs, and simple machines. Train operators on the use of fixtures, jigs, and simple machines.
8. Act as the Engineering representative on the Final Assembly Continuous Improvement Teams driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity through proven Lean Manufacturing principles.
9. Review and assist with all assembly line layout activities, including but not limited to: identifying waste, recommending improvements, implementing improvements and all physical equipment and bench moves.
10. Assist with the development of labor standards, perform time studies and line balancing activities.
11. Assist with development of final assembly processes, coordinate with different departments, and be actively involved during the early assembly processes at all locations.
12. Create PO Req’s to order tools and supplies.
13. Utilize Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint to effectively communicate information to stakeholders.
14. Research assembly techniques, equipment, systems, and/or products.
15. Support all efforts in maintaining ISO 9001 certifications.
16. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and Factory Automation/Manufacturing Engineers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A.S. in Mechatronics, Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification or equivalent experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering is required; 7 or more years of related experience is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling correspondence with internal departments, vendors, and customers. If issue is cross-departmental, you document and effectively communicate it to the appropriate stakeholder(s).
2. Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components
3. Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause
4. Ability to read advanced engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams
5. Ability to use manufacturing systems, e.g., ERP, Agile, EMES
6. Maintain necessary product records and documentation
7. Ability to comprehend and use product/process component datasheets
8. Ability to assemble and disassemble products, including prototypes
9. Ability to perform intermediate mechanical work
10. Ability to train or direct other technicians and operators
11. Basic understanding and Ability to learn Studio 5000 and ladder logic for PLC controls
12. Basic experience and ability to learn and utilize complex robot features (Fanuc/UR Robot)
13. Ability to research, tabulate, and summarize data
14. Know/Participation in PFMEA revie
Top 3 skillsets: Troubleshooting, Hand Soldering, PLC Programming, Robotics, experience with Fanuc Robotics.
Factory floor support, computer vision, Any type of robotic programing, mindset to fix issues/troubleshoot of factory floor.
