Description:Engineering Technician – Electronics
Key ResponsibilitiesElectronics Testing & ValidationExecute functional, parametric, and performance testing on electronic and RF productsSupport environmental qualification testing including:Thermal cyclingHumidity testingShock testingVibration testingConfigure test setups and monitor equipment during testing activitiesTroubleshooting & Hardware SupportAssist engineers with component-level, board-level, and system-level troubleshootingRead and interpret:Electrical schematicsPCB layoutsAssembly drawingsMechanical drawingsBills of Materials (BOMs)Support failure analysis and root cause investigationsLaboratory OperationsPerform precision soldering, rework, and component replacementBuild test fixtures, cables, and wire harnessesSupport prototype assembly and validation activitiesMaintain ESD-compliant laboratory practicesDocumentation & ReportingRecord and organize test resultsPrepare technical reports and failure analysis documentationMaintain engineering records and laboratory logsAssist with creation of SOPs and work instructionsManufacturing & NPI SupportPartner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI)Validate assemblies and test configurations before transfer to manufacturingSupport production readiness activitiesRequired QualificationsEducation & ExperienceOne of the following:High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of electronics, hardware, or RF support experience; ORAssociate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or related technical field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OREquivalent military electronics training and hands-on hardware experienceTechnical RequirementsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawingsExperience troubleshooting electronic assemblies and hardware systemsHands-on soldering and rework experienceExperience using:Digital MultimetersOscilloscopesPower SuppliesElectronic Test EquipmentUnderstanding of electronic components, PCB assemblies, wire harnesses, and mechanical assembliesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCertification RequirementsIPC Certification requiredIPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001Preferred QualificationsRF electronics experienceProduct validation or laboratory testing experienceExperience in an R&D, engineering lab, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with:Spectrum AnalyzersVector Network Analyzers (VNAs)Signal GeneratorsEnvironmental testingExperience with Python, LabVIEW, or basic test automationFamiliarity with IPC, JEDEC, MIL-STD, or related standardsPhysical RequirementsCandidates must be able to:Lift up to 25 poundsBend, reach, kneel, and squatMove throughout laboratory environmentsWork safely around electronic equipment and test stationsCompliance RequirementsITAR RequirementNotes:
