As an OFP engineer you will provide daily engineering support to manufacturing areas in the client fabrication departments:Support daily operation by responding to tactical safety issuesParticipate in Continuous Improvement to achieve CI200 targets for safetyInnovate & implement safety & ergonomic improvement ideasSpecify and design tooling to improve safety both pro-actively & reactivelyCommunicate across multiple shiftsEngineering background required and familiarity with Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial EngineeringMust be able to work and communicate effectively as part of a diverse team that includes UAW employees, operations, and engineering.Experience in primaries (lasers), secondary (bend), weld (both manual & robotic) & machining is nice to have but not required.WhatPro-active & reactive safety activitiesAddress safety observationsAid in CI project executionHowPrioritize projectsFacilitate project communication between shiftsHours must be flexible. We want this resource to be capable of floating between shifts so that the resource can help support 3rd & 2nd shifts.This resource will improve Fabrication’s safety culture through active engagement: 48 hr conversation, execution and project closure. The goal is simple: Get More Projects Done and Improve visibility to project completion.Notes:OnsitePrimarily 1st shift, but will need to be able to flex to 2nd/3rd shift for coverage, etcNo OT expected at this time
