Job Description

Description:

Day to Day:
A team of two people working on a project. They will be provided a scope pf work document. Understanding of test results interpretation. Contractor will be interfacing with vendors during their work day and follow all compliance policies. The contractor will communicate with their team and project manager therefore good communication is key.

Maintaining Project Schedules
Performing fiber characterization tests using OTDR, CD/PMD, power meter/laser source and fiber end face testing using industry standard test equipment
Splicing or re-splicing of problematic fiber strands using industry standard fusion splicers
Fiber end face cleaning using multiple methods
Providing field analysis on Vendor's fiber network from test data
Preparing testing packages including:
1. Redlining of project documentation including fiber path and demarcation points
2. Provide test reports as dictated by vendor requirements
3. Managing project field documentation
4. Interfacing with vendors to provide remediation to fiber path issues
Performing site surveys to validate vendor infrastructure deliverables including any issues

Must Haves:
3 years of experience in telecom industry Experience with testing with OTDR
Fiber Network troubleshooting proficiency
3 years of experience in telecom industry
Splicing experience is a benefit

Education:
High School education.

Must Have:
Ability to test with OTDR
Experience in Telecom Industry 3+ years
Experience working with MS Software (Word, Excel)
Experience with inside and outside plant (ISP inside plant ). (OSP Outside Plant)

Good to Have:
Splicing Experience
CD/PMD

Notes:
Contractor will be traveling through the US, Canada and Mexico.
The contractor will get assigned a project to a location between Thursday and Friday and travel on Monday. Contractor must be available to be reassigned at any moment (this doesn't happen often).
