Experience and training in welding and cutting tools and processes. Experience doing gas turbine mechanical work and gas turbine overhaul work preferred. (GTAW P8 6G – must pass test)Maintain certifications for welding skills. Maintain a clean orderly work area.Perform other duties as necessary.Work and operate cutting rigs, welding machinery and measuring tools.Review, Interpret complex Assembly instructions, specs and blueprints.Inventory, clean and visually inspect all components and stage all equipment needed for assembly and safely offload incoming parts off transport using proper lifting/ rigging equipment and technical questions.Summary:Responsible for fitting, tacking, and welding components in accordance with detail drawings and welding standards. Work includes steel channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, assemblies, and subassemblies.Key Responsibilities:Fit, tack, and weld parts using fixtures, ensuring all dimensions meet drawing specifications.Perform complete welds to required standards and correct fabrication errors as needed.Incorporate approved design changes and fabricate shop fixtures from engineering sketches.Meet production schedules, quality requirements, and labor targets with limited supervision.Safely use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment across carbon steel, stainless steel, and low-alloy materials.Interpret manufacturing drawings, verify dimensions, and apply tolerance systems.Complete shop orders and time documentation accurately.Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow all company standards.Work independently or as part of a team; may require overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts.Perform routine assignments with basic instructions and follow standard procedures.Physical requirements include regular standing and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.Notes:6am-6:30 pmVIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
