Food Processing Engineer

DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES & REQUIRED SKILLS:

Lead high moisture foods process development projects through research and development on various processing techniques that produce forms like dips, spreads, condiments, sauces, etc
Effectively manage projects and progress against key milestone, complete deliverables
Partner with engineers to define process designs & optimize process settings
Partner with food scientist to optimize formulations and ingredient selections
Drive quality improvements through optimization of processes and thermal process steps
Utilize experimental design and data interpretation tools to make technically sound recommendations.
Provide trial and commercialization support to products at manufacturing facilities
Capable of interacting with other employees to independently identify and organize resources for conducting experiments.
Capable of applying basic analytical measurements such as moisture, pH, color and viscosity (training will be provided).
Influence others through strong communication & interpersonal skills


? REQUIRED SKILLS:

B.S. degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related field
Solid knowledge of heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid flow, unit operations
Good knowledge of food science, food chemistry, ingredient functionality, recipe development
1-2 years of research in food processing and engineering and/or 2+ internship experiences in food processing field
Some knowledge of experimental design and product development.
Possess strong work ethic and ability to be a self-starter.
Outstanding teamwork and communication skills
Strong organization, documentation, and project management skills
Demonstrated and adapts to change well with the personal leadership to influence and positively motivate self and peer.
Available to work during regular working hours.
