Position Overview


Hazardous Waste Technician

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe handling, consolidation, packaging, labeling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements. This position supports environmental compliance initiatives and helps ensure a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Collect, identify, segregate, and manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.
Perform waste container inspections and maintain proper labeling and storage requirements.
Transport hazardous waste to designated accumulation areas
Properly consolidate and dispose of hazardous waste
Maintain waste accumulation areas and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company procedures.
Coordinate waste pickups and support interactions with approved waste disposal vendors.
Maintain accurate records of waste disposal materials
Assist with spill response, emergency preparedness activities, and corrective actions.
Follow all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and initiatives.
Participate in required training and maintain applicable certifications.

Qualifications:
Able to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
Able to successfully complete required medical evaluations, respirator training, and respirator fit testing and maintain qualification
Strong Problem Solving Skills
Valid driver's license
