Human Resources Intern
The HR Intern position is an opportunity to experience the full generalist realm of Human Resources at the client. The Mission will seek to learn and actively participate in the day-to-day operations of the HR Department, supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, benefits and to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Leave Administration & Compliance
Serve as primary contact for employee medical leave procedures and tracking
Maintains integrity, confidentiality, accurate files, records, and tracking of documentation
Supports and assists with federal and State compliance reports, projects, and audits
Serve on the Quality audit team
Review and assist with updating organization policies, job descriptions and other compliance documentation
Management of Employee Benefits
Ensure new hire benefits are reviewed and entered into vendor systems, updated in MyHR as appropriate
Upon termination of employment, update plan ending and COBRA notifications
Update annual benefits summary sheets for both sites
Submit benefits reports to vendor for employee Total Rewards Statements
Employee Engagement
Manage the employee attendance and recognition program
Assist in coordination of employee business meetings, town hall events
Support planning & driving Wellness initiatives
Manage media communications & announcements on monitors
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations

Attendance, Hours and Weekly Headcount Reports
Cost Center Count Report for Finance
Weekly HRA report to Finance team
Assist with month end reporting to client HR
Assist with year end reporting to client HR
HR Priorities
Coordinate scheduling of job interviews
Assist with managing of HRIS information in MyHR
Assist with onboarding of new employees
Ensure relevant team are aware of new hire need for laptop, set up of training profile etc.
Partner with new employees to get benefits enrolled promptly and properly
Assist with posting HR communications in visible locations
Serve as champion for corporate initiatives and activities
Assist with payroll & benefits inquiries
Partner with HR to update and maintain Office policies as necessary
Coordinate with IT Department on Office equipment as needed
Birthday, anniversary, sympathy recognition and acknowledgement
Interns must uphold ethical standards and integrity when handling sensitive Confidential information.
Proficiency in Google or MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)
Time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
HR interns should possess a blend of hard and soft skills.
Essential competencies include communication, organizational skills, and the ability to learn HR practices.
Interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Understanding HR software, legal aspects of HR, and data analysis can be valuable.
Effective written and verbal communication is vital for interacting with employees, HR staff, and stakeholders.
Accuracy in managing documentation and understanding compliance requirements.
Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new situations, and acquire new knowledge is essential.
Familiarity with HR systems and software is a plus.
Highest Level of Education Required for this Position:
Bachelor's degree completed or in progress

Est Hours Per Week: 30- 40
Work Schedule + Time Zone: 8:30-4:30 but it will also depend on the candidates availability and if they are still in school
