Position Overview



Provides operational and administrative tasks such as data log requests, interview scheduling, case file management, document compilation, and report proofreading.

OVERVIEW

The Internal Affairs Specialist will assist the client Internal Affairs
Director and Investigator with enforcing the client's program for detecting and deterring employee misconduct, policy violations, fraud, waste, and abuse of state resources and assets, and other improprieties within the client.

The responsibilities of this position will include, but may not be
limited to: Preparing and submitting Outlook data log requests through the client's Archer portal
Preparing and submitting case management system data log requests
Analyzing and converting data log reports into clear, sequential narrative summaries
Scheduling investigation-related interviews
Assisting with note-taking during interviews
Assisting with maintaining the Internal Affairs Referral investigation portal and electronic investigation file system
Compiling evidentiary materials for investigations
Proofreading and editing investigation report documents
Assisting other Ethics and Compliance Division department as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills; solid organizational skills; exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills; clear understanding of the concepts of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality; ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, follow directions, and exercise sound judgment in decision making
Performance success is measured against the goal of maximizing Departmental efficiency and quality.
Work is reviewed for overall accomplishment of objectives and conformance with Internal Affairs
Department procedures. Problems will be discussed with the Internal Affairs Director, Internal Affairs
Investigator, and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer


Skill - Required / Desired - Amount of Experience
Professional exp.(a) in law enforcement,(b)as a paralegal, (c)at least one (1) year in investigative work,or (d) knowledge of investigative procedures - Required - 1 Years
Prior experience working in a role requiring confidentiality and strong ethics. - Required - 1 Years
Prior working experience with Microsoft, including Excel, Outlook and Word. - Required - 3 Years
High School Degree - Required
Ability to work under supervision with exercising independent judgment. - Required
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - Required
Ability to follow structured procedures while managing multiple concurrent cases. - Required

Prior experience working in a role with fraud, waste and abuse concepts. - Highly desired
Case management systems experience. - Highly desired
Prior electronic file/records management experience. - Highly desired
