Job Description

The client is seeking a Level IV software engineer for development activities within the Enterprise Software Solutions (ESS) department.
The position requires advanced JEE knowledge, extensive solution development skills, and the ability to work on a defined set of business systems.
The primary activity will be refactoring the client Business System to run on a SQL Server Database, currently running on Oracle. Some of the common tasks to be performed will be to establish a development environment conforming to ESS standards; to interpret design requirements and API specifications; and to build and applications within the project schedule.
This engagement will backfill and free up other resources to work on other critical client projects.

Other activities include:

Conduct group discussions with key players.
Work with the product teams to determine requirements and understand product design
Design and implement the authentication subsystem according to system specifications
Develop, build, and test each service component.
Complete all required client training.

Computer Protection Program

The contractor shall adhere to all policies and procedures of the client Computer Protection Program, must not bypass any procedures established to protect data, applications, hardware, or communications , must maintain a work environment that will satisfy audit, privacy, and protection requirements, and must report any findings of inadequacies to the technical contact and the BIS Computer Protection Program Representative.

Qualifications:

Comprehensive knowledge of JEE technologies
Comprehensive knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot
Working knowledge of maven and Gitlab CI (or other CI tools)
Working knowledge of queue and messaging based integrations
Experience writing/consuming RESTful services
Experience analyzing codebases and architecture environments
Excellent communication and technical skills
Ability to work both independently and as a contributing member of a technical team
Ability to effectively interact with organization to derive requirements and design solutions
Ability to disseminate knowledge to the current staff
Previous experience with Agile Scrum methodology a plus
Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, RHEL, Apache, and container platforms a plus.
