We are looking for a hands-on Lab Technician to support day-to-day operations in a DDR Server Lab. This role focuses on managing server platforms, building and validating DIMM configurations, performing hardware debugging, and maintaining lab infrastructure. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced lab environment with modern tools, including basic Python and AI-assisted workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain server platforms in the lab environmentBuild, configure, and validate DDR DIMM configurations across server systemsPerform hardware bring-up, system setup, and component installation (CPU, memory, storage)Debug and troubleshoot server hardware issues; analyze logs and identify root causesWork with power distribution units (PDUs) for system power control and monitoringMaintain lab inventory, including systems, DIMMs, CPUs, cables, and equipment trackingPerform system rework, upgrades, and component swaps as requiredSupport lab operations, ensuring systems are operational and available for testingUse basic Python scripting and Linux tools to assist in validation and automation tasksLeverage AI chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) for log analysis, scripting assistance, and documentationDocument configurations, test results, and debug findings clearlyCoordinate with engineers and report system status, issues, and risksRequired QualificationsAssociate degree (AA/AAS) or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field2–5 years of experience in lab technician roles, hardware validation, or server environmentsHands-on experience with server hardware platforms and system componentsFamiliarity with DDR memory (DIMMs) and system configurationsExperience with system setup, OS installation (Linux/Windows), and basic troubleshootingBasic knowledge of Python scripting or automation toolsUnderstanding of hardware debugging concepts and log analysisStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsPreferred SkillsExperience with DDR4/DDR5 memory and server platform validationFamiliarity with BIOS flashing and firmware update toolsExperience working with PDUs and lab power management setupsAbility to read basic schematics and identify components/signalsExperience with lab equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope)Exposure to AI tools for improving productivity and debugging workflowsStrong inventory management and documentation practicesKey CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and documentation disciplineAbility to manage multiple systems and tasks efficientlySelf-motivated and capable of working independently in a labEffective communication and teamworkAdaptability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
