Summary:The Laboratory Support Staff operates proactively and collaboratively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment supporting product stability activities. Following an initial training period, the staff member will:Inventory and maintain project-specific laboratory suppliesPerform laboratory maintenance, including equipment upkeep, cleaning, and trash removalExecute molecular and microbiological experiments and procedures (e.g., testing products with quality control [QC] materials and organism mixes) following written instructionsAnalyze selected data setsMaintain experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs)All work requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and the application of proper biosafety techniques when handling pathogenic organisms to ensure containment of hazardous materials. The staff member must follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs), study-specific protocols, all applicable regulations, and safety requirements, and must complete training in the company's quality management system. This position reports to a manager and requires effective, respectful communication and coordination.This position requires basic technical and organizational skills in a biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory environment, strong attention to detail, and dedication to the mission and goals of the client. Laboratory Support Staff receive detailed instruction and work under direct supervision for all assignments.Primary Duties:Inventory and stock project-specific laboratory suppliesPerform weekly cleaning activities to maintain a clean laboratory environmentExecute molecular and microbiological experiments and procedures following detailed written instructionsHandle potentially pathogenic microorganisms in a biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) environment using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and aseptic technique for contamination prevention and infection controlWork in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) areas using appropriate PPE while maintaining proper containment to prevent nucleic acid contaminationRecord experimental details in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs)Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces in accordance with operational, quality, and safety requirements as defined in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and study-specific protocolsCommunicate progress on assigned tasks to the supervisor on a regular basisComply with all the client corporate policies and quality management system (QMS) guidelinesPerform additional duties as assignedEducation & Experience:Support Level 6: High School Diploma or GED with 1-2 years’ experience in a laboratory setting; an Associate's degree with biology coursework is preferred.Other information:1. Performs work under direct supervision.2. No supervisory responsibilitiesNotes:Works full-time onsite.Start time & end times: 8:00am - 5:00pm or 9:00am - 6:00pm for long days and for the short days 9:00am -5:00opm
