Description:
This position is part of a team responsible for supporting the efforts of the research laboratory staff so they can function at high efficiency. This position has specific routine daily tasks and may receive general instructions additional tasks. Works under the supervision of the Laboratory Operations & Support staff.
Job Duties Include:
Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of the client Quality System
Responsible for the following daily routine tasks with some supervision:
Handling and disposal of laboratory waste; including operation of autoclave.
Maintaining laboratory stocks and supplies.
Routine cleaning and organization of laboratory spaces.
Decontamination of equipment for removal from controlled areas.
Escorting/chaperoning of repair and maintenance technicians in controlled areas.
Minor troubleshooting and routine maintenance of some equipment.
Perform additional tasks as needed to maintain laboratory operation, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities/tasks involved in the role:
Biosafety Lab biohazard trash maintenance/emptying & autoclaving
Stocking general lab supplies throughout many labs
Lab prep – bleach bath refreshes, bleach bottle refreshes, sticky mat replacements
Refreshing safety glasses bins (restocking, cleaning)
Assisting the team w/ equipment and tool decontaminations, lab organizations & cleanings, safety inspections, freezer maintenance, lab chemical waste removal (with HSE team), etc.
Assisting the team w/ special projects as needed.
Experience:
This is an entry-level role. No previous experience is required. Some lab experience is preferred.
Must be able to reliably maintain a routine part-time work schedule consisting of a shift first thing in the mornings each day of the week.
Must be organized and take responsibility for identifying and resolving issues as they arise with the appropriate guidance from more senior personnel. General knowledge of computers and a working knowledge of Microsoft office products is desired. Must have reliable transportation.
An ideal candidate would be:
Reliable
Preference for someone with some lab experience in the past
Someone that is a quick learner
Working Conditions:
Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
Ability to operate heavy machinery.
Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

Notes:
Part-time, morning shift. We can have some flexibility depending on the candidate, but we are looking for someone to come in at approximately 6 or 7am and work for about 4-5 hours.
