Job Position Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Research Scientist to join our dynamic R&D team. The ideal candidate will have a background in chemistry or physics, with a focus on materials science. This role involves working collaboratively on various projects, analyzing data, and understanding scientific instruments. While training will be provided, the candidate must be highly analytical and adaptable to changing project requirements. This position offers potential for long-term growth within the company.

Background in Chemistry or Physics: Strong foundational knowledge in either field, particularly in materials science.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to interpret data and solve complex problems.
Understanding of Scientific Instruments: Basic knowledge of scientific instruments and their applications.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing projects and priorities.


Assist senior scientists working in the laboratory, specifically in regards to conducting qualitative and quantitative experiments and analyses.

Some tasks which are associated with this include:

o Handling of chemicals, specifically involving acids and nanopowders.
o Analyzing chemical compounds to determine chemical or physical properties.
o Preparing samples for analysis involving thorough cleanliness and complex steps.
o Maintaining thorough laboratory documentation of experiments conducted, analyses performed, and results obtained.
o Following, understanding, and communicating laboratory safety procedures, such as those defined in the SDS for chemicals utilized. Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
o Executing, understanding, and interpreting scientific calculations to develop and assist in experimental procedures.
o Be able to work in a collaborative team environment as required in an R&D setting.
o Manage time effectively and multi-task when needed
o Be flexible and easily adapt to changes in assignments

Requirements:


A.S. (with 1-2 years chemistry lab work experience) or B.S./B.A. in chemistry (newly graduated)

Wet chemistry laboratory experience (undergraduate research-based experience included), minimum 1 year.

Understanding of basic scientific/chemical concepts, including: laboratory safety practices, hazardous material/waste handling, precise gravimetric analysis, stoichiometric conversions and equation balancing, basic background knowledge of analytical instrumentation (such as XRD, ICP-MS, BET, TGA).

Education/Years of Experience: Entry level candidates with 1-2 A.S. (with 1-2 years chemistry lab work experience) or B.S./B.A. in chemistry. Wet chemistry laboratory experience (undergraduate research-based experience included), minimum 1 year.

Must work onsite fulltime: 9AM-5PM Mon-Fri
