Laboratory TechnicianQualifications:A 2-year degree from a college or technical school with at least three years of experience in an industrial laboratory environment, or a 4-year degree in a physical or life scienceGood interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work well in both self-managed and team environmentAble to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting established deadlinesComfortable working with hazardous materials and large machineryStrong interest in hands-on workAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsEffective problem solverPossess strong computer and analytical skillsStrong problem solving and decision-making skillsPossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceResponsibilities:Assist in the design of experiments, conduct those experiments independently and collect, summarize and present the resulting dataTroubleshoot problems as they arise in the laboratory, collaborate with research investigators when erroneous or unexpected results occurIdentify and suggest improvements in methodsProducing research experimental results, or information/data management results, or assembling and configuring of small/pilot scale equipment and control systems utilizing a variety of techniquesDocumenting findings and communicating resultsMakes suggestions on path forward and contributes to formulating work plans and managing daily workflowInspects and performs routine maintenance on equipment used to conduct experiments at the designated work locationMaintain appropriate inventory of chemicals and/or supplies necessary for the completion of experiments at work locationMaintain a safe working environmentPreparation and evaluation of coating formulations including electro-coat, primer, topcoat and clear coat using mixing equipment and various spray equipmentAccurately running and recording test results for all coatings formulationsInterpretation and communication of test results using computer-based systems.Documentation of experimental test results using computer programs such as Word, ExcelSafely handle, categorize, and dispose of chemicals on a routine basisHandling multiple tasks under strict time constraintsNote:8:00 AM - 4:30 PMTotal Reg Hours: 40.00Mon - FriVIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
