Laboratory Technician

Job Description

The Laboratory Technician supports daily lab operations by receiving, tracking, and analyzing samples using a variety of analytical instruments and testing methods. This role requires strong attention to detail, comfort working independently, and the ability to support technical staff with accurate, timely data.

Key responsibilities:
Receive and log in samples from internal customers
Perform data entry and utilize LIMS systems to track sample progress
Under general supervision, conducts routine chemical and physical analysis by running tests
Works independently performing mechanical and wet chemical tests for analysis of production fluids and solids. This includes sample preparation.
Assists technical support personnel in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting results to internal and external customers
Handles special projects as assigned
Working with ICP, IC, XRD, XRF, and various handheld lab meters

Skills & Competencies:
Computer (PC) skills; experience creating spreadsheets and reports on a PC
Knowledge of advanced laboratory equipment and LIMS systems
Ability to perform detail oriented, mistake free work and excellent teamwork skills

Work Environment:
Fast paced and noisy environment with constant movement.
Ability to lift satellite waste -30 lbs
Familiarity with hazardous waste disposal is a plus.

Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in chemistry is preferred if there is no other lab experience
Dependable and punctual with a solid understanding of proper laboratory testing techniques and safety guidelines

Notes:

Shift:
Monday – Friday from 7:30pm – 4am, weekends and overtime as needed
