The Logistics Technician will work as part of the logistics team to maintain high performance for all departmental standards including safety, timeliness, quality/accuracy, security and productivity. Responsibilities will include receiving shipments, transferring materials to and from storage locations, packaging and palletizing products, and other tasks necessary to an efficient shipping and warehousing operation. The technician must aim to achieve high customer service standards consistently. In addition, this person will also be expected to work proactively on multiple tasks with autonomy.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Drive a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" with their actions and their words on a daily basis.Through observation of work area(s), is alert to and avoid unsafe behaviors and conditions or other hazards. Reports any observed hazards to supervisor. Strictly adhere to all safety policies including, but not limited to HAZWOPER, Electronic Communications Policy (ECP), and LOTO policiesParticipate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.Safely and efficiently operates their assigned tasks to meet the day-to-day productivity goals of the team.Follow all work processes and work instructions relevant to specific assignments.Prepare cylinders for shipments (Removing Old Labels, Painting, Inspecting/Checking, Wrapping Valve Labeling With Appropriate Information Per client And D.O.T Requirements, Barcode Scanning, Loading On Pallets, Etc)Perform shipping and receiving related ERP transactionsEnsure accuracy of all transactions within ERP to ensure accurate data for operational efficiencyPrepare shipping paperwork according to client Policy and D.O.T regulations.Contact Common Carriers and client locations to coordinate delivery and pickup of cylinders, and other materialsShip, Receive, and Deliver supplies, materials and equipmentOperate a forklift to load and unload carrier trucksLoad and unload sea containers including appropriate blocking and bracing in line with IMO, IMDG, and Customs requirementsMaintain Inventory Control recordsConduct inventory cycle countsEscalates any potential Safety or Quality concernsSuccessfully complete all assigned trainingsRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED3+ years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations (shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management)Must be certified to drive a forkliftStrong customer service orientationProven analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to follow all work instructions and safety protocolsAbility to understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gasesExperience in filing IMO, AES, and ISFMust be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain focus and adapt to a variety of challengesMust be organized with attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlinesMust have good written and verbal communication skills and be very capable of regular interaction with all support departmentsComputer literate with experience using Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and ExcelComputer literate with Google Docs, Sheets, & SlidesKnowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulationsPerform all required trainings as they are assignedWork Conditions:Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work areaAssist in maintaining the security of the warehouseEnsure that no alarms or interlocks are bypassedConduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA and MSDS StandardsPhysical Qualifications:Must be able to move around a large warehouse for 8 or more hours in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basisAbility to climb laddersSignificant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of timeAbility to medically pass a respiratory test and physical test in order to wear a full face respirator as requiredNotes:Work schedule is 8 hours, 1st shift and or possible modified 1st shift to support late afternoon shipments. Overtime work may be needed periodically.
