Position Overview


Major Purpose
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating corrective and preventive maintenance activities for production equipment, facilities, and supporting infrastructure. This role works closely with maintenance personnel, operations, engineering, and suppliers to ensure maintenance work is prioritized, properly planned, and executed safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Planner is also responsible for procuring materials and services required to support maintenance activities and improve equipment reliability.

Major Duties
Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and facility assets.
Partner with maintenance, operations, engineering, and other functional groups to support equipment reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Receive and prioritize maintenance work requests based on business impact, safety, production requirements, and resource availability.
Develop detailed work plans that include labor requirements, parts, tools, materials, permits, and job instructions needed for successful execution.
Identify suppliers, obtain quotations, and create purchase orders for repair parts, spare parts, materials, and maintenance-related services.
Manage maintenance inventory by monitoring crib and self-help stock levels, tracking usage, and supporting cost reduction initiatives.
Coordinate the development, review, and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment data, and planning documentation within the maintenance management system.
Ensure maintenance activities support and comply with applicable safety, environmental, OSHA, and ANSI requirements.
Support maintenance-related projects, shutdown planning, as required.

Technical Skills & Knowledge
Proficiency with computer systems and maintenance management software; SAP experience preferred.
Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, or automated manufacturing systems.
Understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling principles, reliability concepts, and preventive maintenance strategies.
Knowledge of manufacturing operations & facility systems
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Relevant Experience
1-3 years of experience in maintenance planning, maintenance operations, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experience working with maintenance management systems (SAP preferred).
Exposure to industrial equipment, facility systems, or manufacturing processes involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or automation technologies.

Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs and spare parts management.
Experience coordinating work with skilled trades personnel in a manufacturing environment.

Regarding Driving: This position may drive a client owned Gator inside the factory to get from the office area to a different office area in another part of the factory (all connected and indoors). Worker will need to successfully complete client safety training to be approved to drive this. They will transport their computer or parts/tools. Other workers could ride along if they are going to the same areas due to limited number of available Gators. This would not be driven outside. May also drive their personal vehicle to other facilities within a 20 mile radius. Rental cars are not used for this travel.

Notes:
Fully onsite; candidate must be comfortable with factory environment and occasional intra-facility travel
Shift: 1st shift (7 am to 3:30 pm). Periodic off-shift hours may be required as needed depending on projects. OT hours will be possible (either during regular shift or weekend work).
Will need metatarsal safety boots for first day
This is a shop floor position so candidates must be comfortable in this environment
-80% time spent on feet within the factory.
