Maintenance Planner

Plans and schedules the ongoing maintenance and preventive maintenance for all of the plant equipment, as well as the building and facilities. Receives maintenance requests, then prioritizes, plans, and assigns duties to various plant skilled trades personnel, such as mechanics, toolmakers, pipe fitters, tool grinders, and machine hands. May order and purchase the parts and materials necessary to complete maintenance and repairs.

Duties:

Receives maintenance requests from throughout the facility. Prioritizes, plans and assigns jobs to non-skilled, semi-skilled and /or skilled maintenance personnel to repair or perform preventive maintenance on production and facilities equipment. Provides technical support to skilled trades, to include acquiring drawings, reviewing proper procedures, identifying parts, equipment and tools. Identifies sources, secures quotes and issues purchase orders for repair and spare parts, and other materials and services required to support maintenance activities. Provides work direction to non-skilled, semi-skilled and/or skilled personnel on a daily basis and may provide supervision in supervisor's absence. Generates various reports as needed. Tracks crib and self-help stock usage and inventory levels in order to maintain reasonable levels of inventory and support cost reduction efforts. Coordinates the creation and updating of preventative maintenance report to support improved machine uptime as well as OSHA and ANSI standards. Participates in engineering services projects to support the maintenance and operation of facilities and equipment.

Position Overview:

The client is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our operations team. This role is crucial in planning and scheduling both ongoing and preventive maintenance for our plant equipment and facilities.
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for receiving maintenance requests, prioritizing and assigning duties to skilled trades personnel, and managing parts and materials necessary for maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

Initiate spare part determinations and setups for production and facilities equipment.
Coordinate with external vendors on reoccurring and non-reoccurring activities.
Lead or participate in projects across functional groups supporting equipment and facility maintenance.
Prioritize and plan jobs for maintenance personnel for preventive and corrective maintenance.
Provide technical support, including reviewing procedures and identifying necessary parts and tools.
Source quotes and issue purchase orders for parts and materials.
Generate reports and track inventory levels to support cost reduction.
Maintain preventative maintenance reports to ensure machine uptime and compliance with OSHA/ANSI standards.

Required Technical Skills & Knowledge:

Proficient with computer systems, ideally including client systems.
Understand mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Knowledge in drawing/schematic interpretation and geometric dimensioning.
Familiar with manufacturing/distribution processes, quality, safety, and tooling.

Relevant Experience:

1-3 years in Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other Office tools.
1-3 years in manufacturing and/or operations.
1-3 years experience in electronics, mechanical, or hydraulic fields.

Qualifications:

Recent graduates with AA, BA/BS, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Technology, or Maintenance fields.
Mechanical/electrical aptitude for general maintenance.
Comfortable working on the shop floor (30% of the time).
Ability to drive personal and company vehicles as needed.
Business casual dress code required.
Metatarsals required from day one.

Notes:

Position is fully onsite.
Shift: 1st Shift (7 am to 3:30 pm); Periodic off-shift hours may be required. Minimal overtime.

Person may drive a client owned Gator after successfully completing training, personal vehicle across towns for meetings, a client owned company vehicle for procuring supplies (30 miles radius) around town, small tractors (under 10,000 lbs) around the factory to load/unload parts.
