Description:Set up and operate manual machines (lathes, mills) to fabricate or repair metal parts.Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).Maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes as required by oilfield specifications.Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure parts meet quality and safety standards.Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and industry safety standards.Document work performed and maintain accurate production records.Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies)Technical or vocational training preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a manual machinist, preferably in the oil and gas sector.Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools.Strong knowledge of machining materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Desirable attributes of the worker (Experience / Skills / Competencies)Experience with threading (API, NPT, etc.) and machining of downhole tools or pressure-containing components.Knowledge of shop math and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).Forklift or crane operation experience is a plus.Education Qualifications (Required / Preferred)High School Diploma or GEDNotes:Special Equipment Required - Steel Toe Boots7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday VIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
