Position Overview


Description:

Manufacturing Engineer

Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development, test, installation and service, while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other pertinent information. Prepare specifications and related documents in accordance with requirements, established formats and general instructions. Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents and reports. Consult other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend revisions as appropriate. Plan, conduct, or coordinate relatively straight-forward engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries, for review. Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences. Plan, layout, and coordinate new / existing equipment installation.

Minimum Requirements:

· Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in engineering and 5 years of experience.
· Green belt certification (black belt preferred)
· 2 years of SAP experience in the following areas

o Purchase requisition / purchase order creation
o Material review to see inventory levels for warehouse layout planning

· 5 years of Autocad experience in the following areas:

o Equipment Layout
o Warehouse Layout
o Production / material flow

· Microsoft Office experience
· 1 year of experience in CNC operation / programming

o Basic machine programming

· Functional knowledge in industrial electronics / electrical safety


The role is being opened to support a facility project currently underway.

A current Manufacturing Engineer is being allocated to a major project, creating a gap in day-to-day operations.
The contractor will serve as a backfill resource to maintain continuity of manufacturing engineering activities.

Core Responsibilities & Scope
The contractor will support a mix of engineering, process improvement, and operational activities, including:
Updating and creating work instructions and process documentation
Supporting facility layout adjustments (AutoCAD)

Reviewing and interpreting:
o Electrical schematics
o Engineering drawings / blueprints

Coordinating with external contractors/vendors for onsite work
Driving or supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Maintaining and improving standard work processes
Required (Must-Have) Skills & Experience

A. Technical Skills

AutoCAD experience
o Layout modifications and facility changes

Ability to:
o Read electrical schematics
o Interpret engineering drawings / blueprints

B. Manufacturing Experience

Experience developing:
o Work instructions
o Process details / standard operating procedures

Background in manufacturing environments
o Any industry acceptable (automotive, industrial, etc.)

C. Operational & Project Exposure

Experience working with contractors/vendors in a plant environment

Exposure to:
o Facility-based projects
o Onsite coordination of work execution

D. Continuous Improvement

Demonstrated experience in:
o Process improvement initiatives
o Efficiency or standardization efforts

Nice-to-Have

Experience in Power/Energy industry (preferred but not required)

Strong exposure to automotive manufacturing
o Particularly valuable due to:
? Standard work practices
? Automation exposure
? Structured process methodologies

Experience Requirements


Target: 5+ years of relevant experience

Education Requirements

Minimum Requirement:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Key Focus

Strong foundation in manufacturing engineering principles

Experience with:

o Continuous improvement

This position is full-time, on-site

Onsite: 100%

Schedule:

o 5 days per week
o -8 working hours/day
