Weld Engineer

Product Delivery Process Weld Manufacturing Engineer

Your Responsibilities:
As a Product Delivery Process Weld Manufacturing Engineer


Concept and procure weld tooling, robotic weld systems, specialized racks, and material handling equipment utilizing E-Tools to determine the sequence of events, communicate issues and verify safety and ergonomic methods.
Support issue resolution, and achieving quality metrics.?

Participate in quality activities, such as:

Function Geometry Reviews (FGRs), Design Process Assembly Reviews (DPARs), and Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEAs) activities.
Innovate to implement product performance improvements and cost reductions for welding operations.
Support the development and implementation of lean cell layouts to improve material flow and material presentation in areas of responsibility.
Support Appropriation for Expenditure (AFE) labor and capital estimates by developing accurate, timely, labor estimates and part routings in SAP for program management.
Support the launch of new product lines.

What Skills You Need
Understanding of weld tooling design, robotic/automation systems development, work center design, line design, and complex welded assemblies.
Ability to support the improvement of overall product flow and line design within the factory, working through and directing projects from start to finish.
Experience with problem solving and working in a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, wPlanner/MPP, SAP, and 3D Modeling.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%.

What Makes You Stand Out
Expertise with complex automated manufacturing work cells / robotic programming.
Experience with Creo, Solidworks and/or AutoCAD.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T).
Work experience in a union environment.
Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems, and work measurement.
High level of knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification.
Understanding of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).

Education (or equivalent work experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Weld/Mechanical Engineering or Technology OR minimum 5 years working in a technical role supporting automated welding operations in lieu of a degree.

Onsite
Shift: 1st shift (7 am to 3:30 pm) – minimal overtime
Will need metatarsal safety boots for first day
This is a shop floor position so candidates must be comfortable in this environment
-50% time spent on feet within the factory.
