The client seeks to contract an experienced Master Systems Integrator.

Position Overview

The client is seeking a qualified contractor to support its established Building Automation Systems (BAS) team. The selected provider will complement the client’s in- house efforts by managing complex technical systems, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring uninterrupted functionality across 357 facilities. With responsibilities ranging from maintaining diverse BAS platforms to assisting with cybersecurity, data analysis, and capital project integration, the contractor will play a critical role in supporting client’s goals of providing safe, healthy, and efficient environments for students and staff. The unique complexity of the client’s infrastructure necessitates expertise in managing various platforms, providing advanced technical support, and contributing to ongoing improvements.



Scope of Services

1. Building Automation Systems (BAS) Support
o Platform Expertise: Manage Client’s seven distinct BAS platforms and pneumatic systems, each with unique user interfaces and training requirements:
JCI Metasys
ALC Web Ctrl
Alerton Compass
Distech Tridium
KMC Tridium
Schneider Tridium
Siemens Desigo CC
Siemens Desigo Optic
Legacy Pneumatic Systems
o Perform retro-commissioning, setpoint scheduling, and critical alarm resolution.
o Provide ongoing operational support, including Measurement & Verification (M&V), data validation, and troubleshooting.


2. Operational Technology (OT) and Cybersecurity
o Deploy and manage Zero Trust cybersecurity measures across client’s BAS network.
o Maintain secure integration between IT and OT systems, protecting critical infrastructure.


3. Energy Management and Sustainability
o Collaborate with the Energy and Sustainability (E&S) team to implement demand response programs and utility rebate initiatives.
o Identify and execute energy conservation measures (ECMs) and monitor ROI.


4. Capital Project Team Support
o Partner with the Capital Project Team to review and contribute to large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with BAS standards and best practices.
o Analyze and interpret engineering documents, including control drawings, network diagrams, and sequences of operation, to ensure proper implementation of design intent.


5. Data Acquisition and Predictive Maintenance
o Weekly data analysis for identifying operational inefficiencies and enabling proactive maintenance.
o Develop predictive models to optimize resource allocation and improve system longevity.


6. Procurement and Vendor Coordination
o Establish cost-saving procurement strategies for essential parts and systems.
o Act as a liaison between the client and third-party vendors to ensure consistency, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.


7. Training and Capacity Building
o Provide custom OT and BAS training programs for the client staff to build in-house expertise.
o Train building engineers and zone chiefs on BAS functionality, ECM implementation, and troubleshooting.


8. Meeting Leadership
o Organize and lead various meetings for the client BAS team, including vendor coordination, technology deployment, and progress reviews.
o Drive action items, provide updates, and ensure alignment across stakeholders during weekly and monthly discussions.


9. Pilot Programs and Technology Deployment
o Lead innovative pilot programs, including smart pneumatic solutions and IoT retrofits.
o Recommend and implement scalable, cost-effective retrofit strategies for legacy systems.


10. Grant and Federal Funding Support
o Assist the client in identifying and securing federal and state funding for BAS and OT projects.
o Support grant writing efforts and compliance with funding requirements.

Qualifications
Proven experience with the nine platforms listed above, including JCI Metasys, Siemens Desigo CC/Optic, and pneumatic systems.
Expertise in IT/OT integration, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
Strong project management skills with a track record of implementing energy-saving measures.
Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including internal teams and external vendors.
Demonstrated success in grant writing and federal funding procurement.

This is a full-time hybrid position (8 am - 4 pm, M-F, CST).
