Job Description


As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations by safely and efficiently operating equipment involved in the fabrication of Rail Vehicles.

What your day will look like:
Loads Long Assemblies, Crates, Casket and/or long bundles on to the flat car or truck trailer, following the proper procedure.
Move Long Assemblies, Crates, Casket, etc. from one location to another with Straddle Carrie equipment.
Mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies (according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions).
Reading and understanding assembly drawings, bills of materials, and assembly instructions.
Safely using hand and power tools. Some certifications may be required to operate cranes, forklifts, etc.
Complete work order documentation, quality documents, and clock your labor hours.
Follow all safety requirements using all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Trains and provides work direction to other employees regarding loading and unloading methods, sequences, and procedures.
Daily tasks involve pushing and pully heavy equipment on wheels and torquing motions.
Performs tasks that require knowledge of a combination of processes, procedures, operation, and equipment.
Performs handling of parts, kitting parts on carts, operate stainless steel washing and vacuum machines, dispose unused material and trash properly ensuring cleanliness standards.
Coordinate with production team for all the movements.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate activities, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to report progress, challenges, and any potential safety concerns.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries in the workplace.

What we are looking for:
High school education, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-2 years mechanical assembly, forklift operation and/or similar machine equipment operation experience.
Proven experience operating heavy machinery and equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or transportation setting.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and instructions.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
