Description: Material Technicians play a key role in receiving, storing, documenting, and delivering materials within the organization. They fulfill orders for delivery to the plant assembly areas or for direct shipment to customers. These activities also include shipping orders to customers. Additionally, Material Technicians conduct cycle count activities to maintain the count and absolute value accuracy of the inventories maintained within the organization.Tasks:Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.Maintain material storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected and accurate to system quantity.Process various materials movement transactions with an RF device.Clean up working areas and inventory tools.Knowledge: Basic knowledge and experience of principles, procedures, work routines and skills in the related field of work.
