We are seeking a skilled automotive mechanic, ideally with experience in vehicle restoration, who is ready to transition into the industrial railway sector.

The client is hiring numerous Motors/Gearbox Assembly Technicians to overhaul and rebuild locomotive gears. We are responsible for disassembling, cleaning, repairing and reassembling components according to drawings and guidelines to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met. We inspect and adjust completed motors to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements. We have a training and development plan waiting for you!


Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, disassemble, and adjust mechanical components of engines and gearboxes.
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems.
Read and interpret technical blueprints and diagrams.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve assembly processes.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery.

Requirements:

Technical training in automotive mechanics or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a car mechanic or vehicle restorer.
Proficiency with precision tools and measurement instruments.
Ability to work in a team and follow technical procedures.
Preferred:

Experience in industrial or railway environments.
Ability to physically lift 35 pounds
Ability to learn and process information quickly and execute tasks successfully
Ability to work safely and to operate power tools and equipment in a safe manner
