Description:As a Mechanical Design, Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design, analysis and development of steel mounting systems, rooftop/ground platforms, and accessories used at cellular tower sites. You'll work alongside product line managers, R&D engineers, and Operations to optimize products for performance and manufacturability. This role consists of it all, from excellent cutting-edge designs to Quick Turn projects and supporting all from sales to manufacturing, and product/manufacturing support with the occasional customer interface. You Will Make an Impact By:Contribute to the ongoing Technical Development of products with goals to streamline installations and minimize design weight.Mechanical design utilizing strong parametric modeling techniques with design intent using SolidWorks (predominantly Sheet metal) and vaulting via our ERP/SAP system.Perform finite element analysis using ANSYS Mechanical for new and existing steel productsReview and generate drawing packages, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and release all necessary documentation in SAP/ERP systems.Generate ECNs, Engineering Change Notices, via our PDP, Product Development ProcessPartner with Product Line Management and Sales to support customer requests and provide engineering guidance.Interface with PLM & Sales to contribute with our Quick-Turn projects by design, implementation & validation of our “quick-turn” design process. Required Qualifications for Consideration:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or Structural Engineering.Ability to use FEA ANSYS Mechanical or RISA 3D (or equivalent)2+ years of Engineering experience in R&DProficient in modeling with SolidWorks, or Inventor software, and familiarity with SAP/PDM/ERP data managementExcellent communication and presentation skills — able to explain technical concepts to engineers, product & project managersCollaborative mindset with ability to work independently and own projects from beginning to end Bonus Experience:Capability to conduct thermal simulations, using Cadence/6 Sigma.Working knowledge of steel fabrication & galvanization processes.Ability to perform structural analysis using RISA 3D for new and existing steel products/platformsAbility to create macros within Excel using VBA scripting.Working knowledge of Autodesk (Revit) for digital capture & collaboration.Ability to occasionally travel to Manufacturing & customer sites.Working history with NPI, New Product Introduction, routers and process improvement plansExposure to cellular sites, RF system layouts, antenna mounting schemes, or telecom equipment integration.Familiarity with TIA-222, ASCE 7, or AISC 360 standards.
