Job Description

Description:
Design Engineer

Major Purpose
Plan, coordinate, and perform product design, testing, and analysis work for projects of moderate scope or significant portions of major projects. Operate in a collaborative team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. May assign and coordinate portions of work to supporting personnel. Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors.

Major Duties
Analyze information and specify methods, process steps, and equipment to design and improve manufacturing or materials processes, delivering end products within cost and quality targets.
Develop and implement feasibility testing for engineering solutions, providing data to validate designs.
Draft engineering standards and specifications and evaluate effectiveness within your engineering discipline.
Identify shortcomings in existing processes and use established change management programs to address them.
Deliver small- or medium-scale projects within established management plans.
Participate in assessment and development activities, training, and gain/maintain professional accreditation.
Maintain understanding of relevant technology, regulations, and industry best practices.
Collaborate across professional teams and organizational boundaries for seamless user support.
Create and maintain complex technical or user documentation to a high standard; ensure backup and data recovery.
Conduct inspections under supervision to evaluate quality and make recommendations for remedial work.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering preferred.
Recent college graduates are welcome to apply.

Skills:
Experience with Creo
Experience with PDM/Windchill
SAP familiarity
Machinery experience is a plus

Work Details:
Onsite only (no remote)
Business casual dress code
Will need metatarsal safety boots for first day
This is a shop floor position so candidates must be comfortable in this environment
Less than 10% time spent on feet within the factory.


Notes:
Shift: 1st shift (7 am to 3:30 pm) – minimal overtime

Regarding Driving: This position may drive a client owned Gator inside the factory to get from the office area to a different office area in another part of the factory (all connected and indoors). Worker will need to successfully complete client safety training to be approved to drive this. They will transport their computer or parts/tools. Other workers could ride along if they are going to the same areas due to limited number of available Gators. This would not be driven outside. May also drive their personal vehicle to other facilities within a 20-mile radius. Rental cars are not used for this travel.
