Job Description


Your Responsibilities:
As a 2nd Shift Supervisor for the client, you will be responsible for leading a wage workforce to meet the manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule for the client component manufacturing.

Is responsible for achieving departmental/area goals and objectives. Supervises semi to highly skilled production and/or maintenance employees on an assigned shift to ensure the manufacture of products within established delivery, quality, safety and cost standards. The supervisor is the first-line liaison between the production employees and the management staff and thus also serves the function of representing the company's interests with the shop floor staff.

Duties:
Establishes employee environment regarding communications, feedback and overall guidance. Ensures that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job. Monitors Control Plans, troubleshoots workmanship problems and generally supervises production activities to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements. Administers employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit. Monitors individual and line performance and takes corrective action including discipline, as needed and responds to complaints to insure the Company and employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures and work rules. Determines manufacturing and/or distribution priorities based on the production schedule and makes daily assignments including filling vacancies and assigning overtime in order to adhere to the Customer Delivery date. Plans for maintenance of equipment and facilities to maximize the uptime and utilization of capital equipment assets. Monitors and makes corrections to stay within the department operating budget targets. Directs departmental continuous improvement plans and activities. Implements and monitors safety programs and housekeeping.

In addition, you will:
Be responsible for leading a wage workforce to accomplish the safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals through Continuous Improvement (CI) plans and activities
Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job
Lead employee engagement activities, while establishing a positive employee environment through communications, feedback and overall guidance
Monitor individual/group performance and take corrective action including discipline, as needed and respond to complaints to ensure the company and employees adhere to policies, practices, procedures, and work rules

What Skills You Need:
2+ years of experience with, or supporting, shop floor manufacturing
Ability and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and across shifts based on production needs
Demonstrated team leadership skills
Experience communicating across functions (such as: supply management, engineering, operations and human resources)

What Makes You Stand Out:
2+ years of experience with wage/union employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules
1+ years of experience with continuous improvement pay plans (CIPP)
Working knowledge of the CI continual improvement process and 5S

Education:
Ideally you will have a degree or 4 years of equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree

Regarding Driving:
This position may drive a client owned Gator inside the factory to get from the office area to a different office area in another part of the factory (all connected and indoors). Worker will need to successfully complete client safety training to be approved to drive this. They will transport their computer or parts/tools. Other workers could ride along if they are going to the same areas due to limited number of available Gators. This would not be driven outside. May also drive their personal vehicle to other facilities within a 20 mile radius. Rental cars are not used for this travel.

Must successfully complete company safety training for any intra-facility Gator driving duties.

Notes:
This is a fully onsite role with travel limited to intra-facility (using company-owned vehicles) and occasional personal vehicle use for nearby facilities.
Shift: 2ndShift (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm; Frequent overtime with rotating weekend coverage as needed
Position will spend roughly 80% of the day working on the shop floor so metatarsal safety shoes are required for first day.
