Job Description

General Information
JOB DUTIES:

Debugging PC systems with an emphasis on platform level debug. A thorough understanding of PC industry standard busses, such as HT, PCI, PCIe, LPC, USB, and SATA is required in addition to detailed knowledge of high speed digital design and signal integrity. Further requirements include a strong understanding of BIOS, OS and driver interactions at the system level as well as a proficient understanding of x86 CPU architecture and functionality. A good familiarity with switching power supplies would also be helpful, as a typical CPU board will have several local power supplies to power the various chips. During development or sustaining engineering, the debug engineer is expected to provide root cause analysis and guidance to internal and customer design teams to help close any gating issues. This position may require some travel as needed to support the Job Description: customer. The role is required to be a self starter and be able to deal with a high level of ambiguity.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUATION:

Bachelors plus 0-2 years of experience, or Masters plus 3 years of experience is desired Experience as a Hardware Designer or Systems Debug Engineer with experience at a computer hardare company working on at least 2 projects from development, through bring-up and validation and supported through the release to production. Strong knowledge of x86 and chipset architectures and DDR 2/3 memory interface desired;Expert use of tools such as Jtag debuggers, logic analyzers, SATA, USB, and PCIe business analyzers is required Familiarity with tools such as schematics capture, PLD, PCB layout, signal integrity and simulation is an added bonus,Excellent communication skills are required in the role of supporting customers

About the Role: Drive system bring-up, debug, and qualification from EVT-DVT-PVT phases.

Comments for Suppliers: Plan and execute Design Verification Testing (DVT) for complex datacenter systems that integrate CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, optical interconnects, and precision clock distribution networks
