Job Description:The client is looking for a Pediatric Physical Therapist AssistantDutiesUnder the direct, on-premise supervision of a licensed physical therapist, provides physical therapy treatment procedures to an assigned inpatient caseload. Maintains an orderly environment in the physical therapy gym and treatment areas.ClinicalReads and reviews the medical record to understand the patient’s diagnosis, precautions, goals and treatment plans. Asks questions regarding unclear information.Provides direct interventions in individual or group sessions as planned, especially gait training, exercise and modalities. Can treat patients in any setting in the hospital, including the ambulatory network.Evaluates the patient’s response to intervention and documents patient progress in the chart. Instructs patients and parents in home program, especially gait training and transfer.Informs the physical therapist of progress/problems with specific patients.Performs care coordination tasks associated with patient care, including communication with hospital and community providers, tracking of medical equipment, etc.AcademicMaintains current skills and knowledge by identifying own learning needs, both formally and informally, to practice a lifestyle of life-long learning.
