Job Description


Penalty Review Power of Attorney Processing
Processes client form 285(s) and form 290(s)as assigned:
Processes incoming Forms 285 and 290, reviewing for accuracy and completeness
Prepares and processes Power of Attorney (POA) forms or Penalty Abatement forms for data entry into the tax accounting system or PRU team inventory master
Ensures forms and all actions taken for paper, emails, and faxes are organized and securely stored
Researches and resolves POA and Prescreening issues and questions
Serves as a point-of-contact for taxpayer inquiries and cases related to form 285(s) and form 290(s)
Assists with proper routing of emails in the client delegated emailbox
Provides tier 1/basic -level customer care to taxpayers regarding forms completion (Form 285 and Form 290)
Escalates intermediate and complex taxpayer inquiries and cases to senior team member
Processing the Mail (as assigned)
Other duties as assigned

Ability to understand and apply statutes, laws and procedures governing filing requirements and assessment of penalty and interest. Ability to mathematically calculate tax, penalty and interest assessments according to client policies. Knowledge of and ability to learn various tax types, policies, procedures, sources of legal reference relating to client law, and rules of evidence.
Understands accounting and mathematical principles and the business environment and is able to apply analytical techniques.
Good verbal and written communication.
Able to work on multiple projects based on changing priorities.
Able to work independently and/or in a team setting.
Computer proficient. Efficiency in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office products and other computerized systems. Particularly skilled with spreadsheets.
Problem solving in variable situations requiring analytical, interpretive, evaluative, and/or constructive thinking within broadly defined policies and objectives.
Other duties are assigned as related to the position.
Follow established guidelines.
Some college with major coursework in accounting, business, or a closely related field or two years of professional experience. Spanish speaking is a plus.

Required Skills:
Google Suite and/or Microsoft Programs - particularly proficient in Sheets/Excel and Gmail. Research, analytical and critical thinking, problem solving, call handling.
Understands accounting and mathematical principles, written and verbal communication.

Notes:
Hybrid Position - will need to come onsite as needed to process mail. (10% Onsite, 90% Remote).
